For the assignment called Production Standards the purpose was to learn about how clothing sizes are relative. Sizes differ between stores and brands and most clothing is made with a 1/2" tolerance. I went to different clothing stores and tried on a number of styles and sizes. I found a Stussy top that fit me and I got all the identical items in the same size to try on. The point of this was so I could see how because of the 1/2" tolerance, even identical pieces can fit slightly differently. When I tried multiple tops on, I noticed that some were more gaping around the arms, others fit tighter or looser around the bust and some were shorter or longer in the front and back. This was an interesting research trip, it showed that even though you may know your clothing size, all brands fit differently. That's why it is a good idea to try clothes on before you buy them.
